Our first ever release from Burundi and we couldn’t be happier with the quality and how we came to purchase it.
This coffee is incredibly high quality but doesn’t shove anything in your face. It is perfectly juicy and vibrant with notes of black cherries and raspberries. But this isn’t a fruit bomb. Those fruit qualities are well balanced with a creamy and heavy body that makes this coffee a wonderful daily drinker that will please all sorts of palates.
Our friends at bonaventure coffee project hooked us up with this coffee. A few months back we traveled with them to Honduras and got to see first hand the intense effort they put in to building real and impactful relationships with coffee producers and Burundi is no exception. They began working in Burundi in 2014 and originally the Ninga Hills were full days walk from the original Bukeye Washing Station. In 2020 they partnered with Long Miles to help establish a washing station in Ninga Hills itself and this is one of the first productions they are opening up to other roasters.
