Coffees

Where It All Began
A few years ago, half my time was spent working the graveyard shift as an EMT, the other half I devoted to a burgeoning love for outdoor adventure—kayaking, snowboarding, rock climbing. I suppose sleep must have happened somewhere in there, but being that sleep was in short supply, I needed fuel, something potent, to keep myself safe in the day and others alive in the back of the speeding car at night. Like so many others, I turned to coffee for that fuel.
I soon realized that adventure in my free time wasn’t enough and decided to add a bit of it to my professional life by starting a business. The problem was, I didn’t know what kind of business to start. At the suggestion of a friend who’d taken note of my copious coffee consumption, I started a coffee roasting business.
I soon fell in love with coffee in a different way: spending countless hours roasting on my back porch in Fairmont, West Virginia and selling at farmer’s markets. I realized how delicious and varied coffee could be. I realized coffee could taste sweet and fruity and full and chocolaty and everything in between. I studied the craft and was dying to share it with people in my community.
A few years, a lot of hard work, and a little luck later, here we are, grateful to still be sourcing and roasting the finest coffee the world has to offer. And though we’ve grown a lot, our goal is still the same: offer delicious fuel for the personal or professional adventure of your own.
